Concern # 04 - 17
Concern Concern has been expressed that there is not an OGR, especially small OGR, mapping and tracking system.
Screen Categories 1
Situation/
Background

There is a recommendation in the 2002 Monitoring Report, page 2-7, to track changes of OGRs and label the small, medium, and large OGRs. A formal process is not in place at this time.

Discussion

As part of the 2003 SEIS Closeout work, the corporate LUD layer will be updated and will label all OGRs by size. The layer and associated data dictionary will also be updated to allow tracking of changes to LUDs through time, including adjustments made to OGRs. This work is expected to be available Fall of 2004.

(See also the concern related to new and updated information not being incorporated into the corporate databases including GIS [04-2].)

Strategy

Complete the SEIS Closeout work and provide Forest direction regarding the timing and manner of incorporating new or updated information into the corporate data bases. Direction will need to assign which Staff group will be responsible for keeping such information up to date. Include guidance in Forest Plan implementation refresher training.
