| Concern # | 04 - 14 |
| Concern | Concern has been expressed that there is inconsistent tracking of retention areas in timber harvest units. |
| Screen Categories | 1 |
| Situation/ Background |
The use of timber harvest unit cards throughout project planning and implementation should make it relatively easy to track these areas. Areas that are designed for long term retention such as that designed and retained to meet marten and goshawk standards and guidelines need to be trackable in the appropriate GIS or other suitable map base. Timber management maintains existing vegetation and managed stands layers in GIS to track such retention along with much other information. |
